This book, the first in a series, is an outgrowth of the scientific activities of the Center for Geometry and Mathematical Physics which was established in Fall 1996 in the Mathematics Department at Pennsylvania State University. It contains 18 original research and survey articles by leading mathematicians on recent developments in these fields.
