American Evita
Hillary Clinton's Path To Power
by Christopher Andersen
Review this book!
This highly critical political biography of Senator Clinton by celebrity biographer Christopher Andersen leaves no scandal unturned, and comes close to demonizing her. Focusing primarily on the post-White House years, Anderson sees a future presidential run, part of the much-rumored "Plan" between Bill and Hillary whereby she would abide his behavior while he was in office, in exchange for his support afterwards, at which time she would seek higher office. Andersen acknowledges Hillary's work ethic and abilities, while also gleefully ticking off her often petty qualities, indicated for example by her Travelgate behavior. While much of the book recounts old scandals and news--and dwells on her relationship with Vince Foster--the general thrust is toward her political future and her role in the Democratic Party.
