Publisher Notes

Bellevue Farm, part of The Nature Conservancy's Coast Reserve, a forty-five thousand-acre sanctuary on the Eastern Shore, was once the home of a pre-Revolutionary War plantation. Before that, Native Americans hunted its forest and salt mashes. Today it is still a working farm, but it also is a coastal wildlife sanctuary, a place here the sea, the salt marsh, and the high land come together.
