Publisher Notes
Charlie Bone hoped the new semester at Bloor's Academy would hold no nasty surprises. But then suddenly Henry Yewbeam appears out of nowhere.
Media Reviews
"Nimmo has a light hand with traditional fantasy elements, and her fresh approach juxtaposes humor and mystery with well-rounded characters with whom readers can empathize. Characterizations are lively and memorable, with a tidy balance among ages and genders. The suspense is compelling, moving readers easily from scene to scene, any necessary explanation built into the text without slowing the pace."
Synopses
Back at Bloor's Academy after Christmas vacation, Charlie finds himself confronted with a new problem when young Henry Yewbeam, who vanished during a game of marbles in 1916, suddenly appears and needs help to find his family.
First Line
It was January 1916--the coldest winter in living memory. The dark rooms in Bloor's Academy were almost as cold as the streets outside. Henry Yewbeam, hurrying down one of the icy passages, began to hum to himself.
