Publisher Notes
When the relationship between Jan and Kerry, a new student, goes beyond friendship and their romantic relationship is threatened with exposure, they must face a difficult decision that could change their lives forever.
Media Reviews
"...has all the components of a classic young adult novel: well-developed characters, an interesting plot, familiar setting (a high school, of course) and a powerful theme....The use of centering the plot around Jan directing 'The Crucible' was nothing short of clever on Nancy Garden's part. The play, with its focus on the Salem witch trials, is woven into, and fills out, both the plot and theme...gives a sense of the hardship but also the benefits of coming out."
Synopses
Jan begins her senior year of high school not expecting that she will lose the starring part in the school play, take over as director when her beloved drama teacher becomes ill, and realize that she is a lesbian.
