Jane Austen's Charlotte
by Julia Barrett
Review this book!
At her death, Jane Austen left behind part of a novel set in Sanditon, a town in Sussex, that began to tell the story of Charlotte Heywood, who comes to town as a guest of the Parkers, one of Sanditon's grand families--a family that includes the dashing young Sidney, one of Charlotte's suitors. Julia Barrett, who has written two Jane Austen sequels, tackles the manuscript and pairs off the various lovers, inserts a subplot about smugglers, and introduces a new character (a lady poet).
