The staff of the Monkeewrench software company seem to have a hit on their hands--Serial Killer Detective, their new game, is getting great reviews from its early customers. The trouble is that one of the game's fans is taking things a bit too literally (or is it virtually?) and restaging the murders depicted in the game. Meanwhile, as Grace McBride and her coworkers race to predict the killer's next victim, a Wisconsin sheriff may unwittingly find the solution in his investigation of an apparently unrelated murder and its extremely bizarre collection of evidence. This thriller was written by a mother-daughter team under a pseudonym; it is the first in a four-book series.
