The Blackbird Papers

This thriller marks the fiction debut of NBC medical correspondent and nonfiction author Ian Smith. Nobel Prize-winning African-American scientist Wilson Bledsoe leaves a Dartmouth party being given in his honor, eager to return home to his wife--and to the crucial research paper awaiting completion in his lab. When his body is found the next day, evidence suggests he was killed by white supremacists. But Wilson's brother, FBI agent Sterling Bledsoe, is unwilling to leave it at that; and his investigations gradually reveal that Wilson's death was not only connected to his research, but to a vast academic and political conspiracy.
