Now widely available, the book is still distinctive among King's works because it is a relatively mild fantasy tale that can be read as a children's novel. It tells the story of the princes Peter and Thomas, and their quest to jointly and peacefully rule the kingdom of Delain, despite the interference of the evil magician, Flagg.
