Volume XXV, First Edition. 690, [ii] pp, large double-sided folding map in front pocket dated 1908 with Manhattan and the Bronx on one side and six road maps of parts of Long Island on the other, detailed index (including to previous volumes), many adverts (including full page), innumerable other details of life, business and culture in the new Borough (former City) of Brooklyn, also known as Kings County. Red cloth gilt, light soil, small splits head of spine, ca. 3/8" damp stain foot of front board, light wear and soil, otherwise clean, tight and very good. The Brooklyn Daily Eage was a newspaper published in Brooklyn, New York from 1845 to 1955 with a short-lived revival in the sixties. At one time it was the most popular afternoon paper in the United States and its distinguished Editors included Walt Whitman, St. Clair McKelway, Thomas Kinsella, Cleveland Rogers and Charles Montgomery Skinner..
