The Corriere dei Piccoli, founded in 1908 by Silvio Spaventa Filippi, is considered the first comic published in Italy. Among the characters appearing in these issues are Salomone e Dorotea by Attilio Mussino, il Signor Bonaventura by Sergio Tofano, Bice e Bauci by Mario Pompei and some of the most important American strips of the era including Jiggs and Maggie (Arcibaldo e Petronilla) by George McManus, The Captain and the Kids (Bibì e Bibò) by Rudolph Dirks, Felix the Cat (Mio Mao) by Pat Sullivan. Quarter gray cloth over marbled boards, red leather labels to spine lettered in gold. In 1989-90 the Roman newspaper Il Messaggero published a weekly insert featuring classic Mickey Mouse stories from the 1930s to the 1950s. The set includes more than 90 stories by Gottfredson with more than 1,500 pages in color and b&w. The condition of the set is fine. Each volume has an anti-theft sticker to rear pastedown endpaper and there are two pages with a short tear. In the Italian language. ; Folio.

Wartime-era reprint of a few Captain Marvel stories in a smaller booklet format done by the Samuel Lowe Company listed in Overstreet as "The Mighty Midget Comics" series. No date (c 1942). Booklet is 4 7/8" x 3 7/8". 36 pages (including covers). Four-color cover, two-color interior (black, red). Back cover shows a war bonds ad (otherwise blank).
