New York: Random House, 1957. First edition. Near Fine/Very Good. True first printing in matte boards with a single signature and original dust jacket, priced at 200/200. A Near Fine copy of the book with trivial bumping, soiling and wear to board edges. Small bump to the top of the spine has caused a minor closed tear in the paper covering the spine. No previous ownership markings or soiling to any pages. Dust jacket is Very Good with some minor soiling and rubbing, a small closed one inch tear to rear panel and modest chipping to spine ends. Quite uncommon to find this title in the correct boards and jacket in such attractive condition. Arguably Dr. Seuss' most beloved children's story, created in response to John Hersey's claim that schools needed more exciting children's books to help beginning readers. Additional photos available upon request. Near Fine in Very Good. dust jacket.

[Cleveland], 1964. Typescript, two pages, 4to (11 x 8.5 inches). With mailing folds. Two inked corrections. Published in 'The Buddhist Third Class Junkmail Oracle' and anthologized in 'The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry,' ed. Alan Kaufman, New York: Thunder's Mouth Press, 1999. This typescript shows two corrections made in levy's hand - adding "in cleveland" at the end of the sub-title and changing the last words of the second stanza - that subsequently appeared in the published editions: See 'The Buddhist Third Class Junkmail Oracle,' edited by Mike Golden, NY: Seven stories Press, 1999, p. 199." Original manuscript and typescript material by the famed, and infamous, Cleveland poet is scarce, with only two pieces appearing at auction in the past 50 years.

Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process. Description:
New York: Random House, 1959. Book. Illus. by Sam March (dust jacket design). Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. Small octavo. Humes's second novel, following 'The Underground City,' both of which led to his being considered by Esquire magazine as having the same promise as two obscure guys named Updike and Styron (whoever they are). Anyway, he met a guy named Leary who introduced him to a little substance known as LSD, and after seriously indulging his fondness for the hallucinogen he became a trifle paranoid and a bit delusional, which pretty much ended his writing career. Humes was co-founder (with Peter Matthiessen and George Plimpton) of The Paris Review. He died of prostate cancer in 1992. Black cloth w/gilt lettering, 184 pages. Mildly cocked, light general wear, in price-clipped dust jacket w/light rubbing, light edgewear, creases to fore-edges of both flaps..
