Presents, in its ultimate collectible format, Jill Furmanovsky's "Charlie Watts, Halcyon Hotel, March 1991". The single most celebrated photograph by Furmanovsky, the most celebrated photographer of portraits of rock music celebrities of our time. The classic profile of a pensive, serene-looking Charlie Watts captures the personality of the Rolling Stone artist, the opposite of Mick, and is one of the greatest portraits ever taken of a rock star, particularly one associated with the most Dionysian version of popular music. "I entered the London Observer's Portrait Award with this picture and won First Prize in 1992. To my great delight, Charlie wrote to congratulate me. Representing the bedrock of rock, Charlie Watts has aged immaculately" (Jill Furmanovsky) . Artists photographed in her 30-year career include many of the biggest names in rock music: Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Blondie, The Police, Led Zeppelin, The Pretenders, Bob Dylan, and Oasis. She has also made music videos for Oasis and The Pretenders. Furmanovsky's books, "The Moment: 25 Years of Rock Photography" and "Was There Then: A Photographic Journey", are seminal works in the genre. An absolute "must-have" title for Jill Furmanovsky, Charlie Watts, The Rolling Stones, and rock music collectors. This original silver-gelatin print is one of the Limited Edition of 30 numbered, stamped, and signed copies, indicated as such (Number 15) on recto. It is very prominently and beautifully numbered and signed in black ink-pen and stamped by Jill Furmanovsky. This is a great photographic print. As far as we know, this is one of only two copies still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. A rare signed print thus. Winner of The Jane Brown Observer Portrait Award for this Charlie Watts portrait in 1992 and "Woman of the Year for Music" in 1998. One of the finest photographers of rock music of our time. A fine collectible print. .
