Alexander Strahan, 1866. Hardcover. 8vo. Half-leather over marbled paper-covered boards. xl, 270; vi, 332 pp. 30 b&w illustrations (15 per volume). Both volumes rebound in half brown morocco leather over marbled paper-covered boards, five raised bands, each compartment gilt ruled at top and bottom, title in gilt on black spine label in second compartment from top, volume number in gilt in fourth compartment from top, publication date in gilt at bottom of sixth compartment from top, with extra gilt rule above date, decorative tooling in remaining compartments and on raised bands, blind triple-rule separating leather from paper on front and rear boards. Foxing to first and last 4 pages of each volume, very slight occasional foxing to a few other leaves within the text. Overall very good plus.

London:Alexander Strahan, Publisher, 1866. hard cover. Very Good/No jacket. London:Alexander Strahan, Publisher. 1866. 2 volumes. xl+ 270pp and vii+ 332pp. Illustrated. Hardcover.  Volume 1 front board is moderately soiled, with wear to edges and chipping to lower ended of spine.  Volume 2 boards bright with very little wear. Page edges dust stained on both volumes. Both volumes have light age-toning to first and last few pages, and a very occasional spot of foxing or a smudge scattered throughout.  No previous owners marks or signatures. Both bindings are tight and hinges intact.  Overall, a very good set.
