Contemporary quarter calf, flat spine in five compartments, lettered and decorated in gilt, stamped in blind; marbled covers, edges and end papers. An excellent copy, binding tight and unmarred, moderate foxing (mostly marginal) to about half of text leaves but plates completely clean and richly colored. Continental editions of Catlin are quite scarce, and this offers reduced-scale versions of the plates in the North American Indian Portfolio at a fraction of the cost. Howes C 243b. Sabin 11539.
