This classic novel was first published in 1886. This reprint of the 1948 edition has been completely reset as it was in that year. This is a collector's edition, finely printed and bound; a rigid slipcase, in black, is provided. The cover cleverly shows a bent-over man with his back turned to us. The left half of the cover is black; the right is white.
