Numerous illustrations, maps, plans one of which is foldout, tables one of which is foldout, and Colour endpaper maps, Appendices, bibliographical credits at the end of each chapter, index. Written to provide farmers, local government staff and students with a concise, technically accurate, simply written account of the pleasures and benefits which may be gained from suitable tree plantings together with the information necessary to make the plantings a success. Deals with the use of trees for ornament, shade, shelter and timber production. A major section deals with rural fire control, and firefighter safety. Descriptions are given of 101 exotic and native species. The book itself is in very good order, only the bottom corner of the rear board being slightly bumped.
