Delhi: Ajanta Publications, 1986. Book. NF. Hardcover. First Edition. viii, 417pp, Introduction, Bibliographical Essay, Bibliography, Notes, Author and Subject Index. 8vo/22.5cm. Black cloth gilt in dj. NF/NF. With the bibliographical essay, this reference book is one of the more substantive bibliographies on Kashmir. At the time of writing, the author was a South Asian specialist librarian in the Library of the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. One slightly puzzling point is why there is no mention of the 1974 work of Kulbhushan Warikoo, i.e., Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh: A Classified and Comprehensive Bibliography with a Foreword by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. A large and sustantial work, if perhaps not as substantive as Dogra's, it was certainly worth mentioning. Warikoo has since written more than a dozen books, primarily on Kashmir, and was Chief Librarian of the J & K State Library in the seventies and more recently has been connected with the Himalayan Research and Cultural Foundation..
