The cloth on board binding is wonderful: the zig zag pattern which appears on the front cover, is in bold colours: black, white, blue, turkey red. Spine is beige with red lettering. Bottom and top of spine are worn, bumps to corners. Tear 1 1/2" long on edge of spine. Scuffing to back cover. Front cover in good cond. Front free endpaper missing. Evidence of hinging, mended with invisible tape. The text and illust. are in excellent cond. Full page illus. - some in colour, other b/w. Illustrated with both color and black and white plates. Some edge rubbing, good hinges, sound text block, clean pages with a couple of minor instances of finger smudges to margins, old gift notation on front free endpaper, no other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [2.00] and has considerable edgewear and rubbing, some very small edge chips, but fairly little paper loss.. First Edition. Hard Cover.
