Exterior cloth rubbed at all corners, especially at the spine with fraying at the top edge, hinges cracked but secure, internal binding shaken, front free endpaper missing fronticepiece loose but present, paper moderately yellowed with moderate foxing throughout. According to an internet site, Stedman Wright Hanks (1811-1889) was a longtime resident of Lowell, and Cambridge Massachusetts, as well as an artist, author, inventor, seaman, pastor, lawyer, judge, father, husband, and generally a good guy.
