Extensively illustrated with 171 photographs and facsimiles, Sanburg provides an account of the Barrett collection just before it was auctioned off. First after a limited edition in 1949. Size: Octavo (8vo; up to 9 3/4" / 20-25 cm tall). 344 pages. Text block is tight and unmarked, though the pages are slightly tanned from age. Brinding is tight; the front lower corner is slightly turned in; almost no shelfwear. There are several photocopies laid in. At some point there was apparently some newsprint, as well, which tanned the edges of the inside covers and free endpaper where they were not protected from exposure.
