Little Journeys to the Homes of the Great (14 volumes)

by Hubbard, Elbert

East Aurora, NY: The Roycrofters / Wm. H. Wise & Co., 1928. The Memorial Edition. Hardcover. Octavo [21.5 cm] Beige cloth with paper title labels on the spines, and blind stamped busts on the front covers. Top edges gilt. Other edges untrimmed. Very good. The edges of the covers are ever so slightly bumped and rubbed. There are very sporadic small, light moisture stains on the spine labels. Several hinges are weak, and there are minor cracks in the text blocks here and there. There is a small loss from the top edge of the spine label of volume 12. The front free endsheets have a former owner's bookplate. Many uncut pages. The frontispiece tissue guards of volumes 4 and 6 are absent. A very attractive set. Elbert Hubbard was first made famous with his writings for his magazine, The Philistine.
