This is by far the loveliest copy we have seen of the first printing--absolutely near flawless condition. From an auction of modern first editions--with the auction tag laid into the book. No interior markings--clean and tight copy--no soiling to the page edges--none of the usual pronounced spine roll associated with this title because of the size of the book (843 pp). The dustjacket is unclipped--in fine condition with the proper price for the first printing (18.95). No pronounced sun toning to the spine dustjacket-- as is usually found. Full numberline on the copyright page (1-10)---all first printing points in place. This copy is a rare gem--winner of the Pulitzer Prize for McMurtry in 1985--and is what many consider to be the best Western ever written--and the basis for what many also consider to be the best television series ever produced.
