Condition is NEAR FINE ; no shelf wear, covers extremely clean. Binding tight. Text spotless. Edges of text block are foxed. DJ is VERY GOOD ; price-clipped, very clean and bright but with a small amount of foxing. Spine moderately toned. Auto. RGR.

Scarsdale, NY: Barnes Publishing, 1981. Hardcover. Very good/very good. Maroon cloth boards in dust jacket, oblong quarto [12" x 9.25"], illustrated in b&w. Book has forward lean to spine, soil and edgewear to boards and spine, binding tight, previous owner's Turrie Chiavetta Jr.'s signature to front pastedown, gift inscription to front endpaper, text clean and unmarked but foxed at edges of block. DJ toned and rubbed, edgewear that includes a few small tears, front flap price clipped, now in archival mylar wrap. Turrie Chiavetta Jr. was a sprint car racer from McKees Rocks who died in 2012.

Harold Arminius Miller (1875 – 1943), commonly called Harry, was an American race car designer and builder who was most active in the 1920s and 1930s. Griffith Borgeson called him "the greatest creative figure in the history of the American racing car". Cars built by Miller won the Indianapolis 500 nine times, and other cars using his engines won three more. Millers accounted for 83% of the Indy 500 fields between 1923 and 1928.
