New York: Funk & Wagnalls Company, 1956. First edition. Hardcover. Good +/good +. 335 pages with index, illustrated with black and white plates. One of the first books on the lives and accomplishments of the naval commanders of the Union. Blue cloth binding with gilt titles and decorations on spine. A little staining of cover, minor spotting, some edge wear, bumping of corners and spine ends, a little spotting of end papers, interior pages lightly tanned but clean, binding tight. Mylar covered blue illustrated dust jacket with white titles on front cover and spine shows some edge wear and scrubbing, light creases, darkening of back jacket cover and inner folds, stains showing on interior of jacket, pencil marks at top of front inner fold with stain, not price clipped.
