Neurotica brought together some of the best and most original, predating the Beat generation major publications. It makes perfect sense that one of the key members, John Clellon Holmes, would write an introduction to this volume. Neurotica published fiction by John Clellon Holmes and Lawrence Rivers, then known, and today better known as Larry Rivers plus Carl Solomon and Judith Malina including poetry of Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, Kenneth Patchen, and even Leonard Bernstein together with early showings of illustrations by William Steig and Alvin Lustig.
