No date. Ca. 1950s?. Color pictorial bird's eye view style map, 19 1/2 x 28 1/2 inches (50 x 72 cm), folding as issued into color pictorial paper folder 11 x 5 1/2 inches. Good condition: short splits at intersections of folds, light rubbing to folds at right of map, one site inconspicuously labeled in pencil, folder is edgeworn with small chips and edge tears. A most attractive bird's eye view of Nikko National Park with the Nikko Tosho-gu Shrine at centre. Map title and a few site names are in English, all other text in Japanese. The National Park was established in 1934. .

[Tokyo: Nihon Chizu, 1956]. Oblong folio. 24.5 x 18.5 colour-printed birds-eye view pictorial map, text printed in English & Japan on verso, preserved in colour-printed & illustrated softcovers. First edition, thus, of this scarce and beautifully printed birds-eye map to the famed National Pakr spreading over Tochigi, Gunma, Fukushima and Niigata first established in 1934 as a National Park. Filled with beautiful shrines, and temples, including Rinno-ji, Toshogu the tombo of Iyeyasu Tokugawa, The Yomeimon, The Okumoin, Jigando and its garden, and the Kirifuri waterfall.
