Textured brown cloth gilt in protected dj. NF/NF. Chapter headings include: To Egypt, To Iraq, Into Persia, Round Teheran, To Isfahan, Kum, The Coronation of Reza Khan and Russia. Vita Sackville-West (1892-1962), distinguised British novelist, poet, biographer and critic, took this trip to Persia in 1926 to meet her husband, Harold Nicolson (1886-1968), then serving in the British Legation, and to attend the Coronation of Reza Shah.. Originally published by Hogarth Press in 1926, this edition has been supplemented by her younger son, the noted author Nigel Nicolson (1917-2004),with many previously unpublished photographs as well as personal details of the journey omitted from the original.
