Two quarter page woodengravings, each 5 x 5 inches on sheet size 15 3/4 x 11 inches, from January 17, 1885 Harper's Weekly. 1/2 inch ink spot to left upper margin (just outside image area); very good condition. Two political cartoons by Thomas Nast illustrating "nosing" around in global affairs. The quote under the Bismarck Nosing cartoon concludes "In all that concerns Panama and Nicaragua, Germany has quite as important interests at stake as England or France." .
