MILTON, John. THE POETICAL WORKS OF JOHN MILTON. Guildford: Astolat Press, 1904. Large 4to. Cloth. xii, 194 pages, 17 plates, with woodcut illustrations in the text. First edition. Ridler calls this book "the magnum opus and most desirable item from this press." It is illustrated with eight etchings, seven mezzotints, and two engravings, all by William Hyde, one of the most underrated artists of turn o the century England. The book was lavishly produced on fine rag paper. Laid is a note card from Hyde initialled by him "W.A.H." Covers are dusty, else v good. (15562).
