New York, New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers. Fine with no Dust Jacket. 1897. First Edition: First Printing. Hard Cover. 204 pages: 4.75 x 6.75 in.: 1.4: KB#010079: Boards now protected by a new Brodart Archival Mylar Cover. Boards are tan cloth with black lettering on front and gilt letting on the spine, plus a multi-color figure of a man with a pistol on the front. All cover letterings and drawings are clean and sharp. Boards and pages are clean, unmarked (no marks or names found at all), bright (spine is slightly darkened), tightly bound and sharp cornered. Contains frontispiece and 23 additional full-page illustrations by Peter Newell, is dedicated to Conan Doyle, and has 204 text pages followed by a 4-page catalog of other Harper books of the time. Holmes is the leader of a diverse group which includes Queen Elizabeth, Captain Kidd, Noah, Christopher Marlow, Hamlet and Caesar in this second of two satirical novels by Bangs.
