Alberta: Willow Creek Publishing, 1988. Book. Fine. Hardcover. 75th Anniversary Edition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. From limited edition of 1,000 copies. 247 pages. Index. Many reproductions of archival black and white photos. Photo-illustrated endpapers. Oblong 11.2" x 12.5". When this book first appeared in 1913 it represented the most extensive chronicle of Alberta's cattle country ever undertaken, and since then it has become a cornerstone in the written history of Western Canada. This edition includes every word of the original, complemented by 45 additional archival photos (of the same period and locale as the text). The author calls this the story of the work and play of the cowboys and the ranchers when the ranges were open and the cattle were wild. - paraphrased from dust jacket. Discrete handwritten gift greetings atop front free endpaper, otherwise book clean and unmarked with very light wear. Light wear to dust jacket which is now preserved in glossy new archival-grade Brodart. A handsome copy..
