Covici-Friede, 1937. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Signed Limited. One of 699 signed and numbered copies, this is number 249. Signed by Steinbeck on the colophon page. Octavo, original pictorial beige cloth, uncut, original numbered cardboard slipcase. Cloth with slightest toning, spine more so; small tear at top of spine. Original slipcase lightly worn, with a small piece of the top edge of the case loose and a small piece missing. Comes in custom-made slipcase.

Synopsis

"The Red Pony" is an episodic novella written by American writer John Steinbeck in 1933. The first three chapters were published in magazines from 1933–1936, and the full book was published in 1937 by Viking Penguin. The stories in the book are tales of a boy named Jody Tiflin. The book has four different stories about Jody and his life on his father's California ranch.
