Basically the first comprehensive review of Arab films ever published, more than 900 of them going back to 1905. They are reviewed for their spoken or visual anti-Arab stereotypical images. From the evidence the author has amassed, it looks to be an overwhelming indictment of Hollywood treatment of the subject. In essence he says, the word "Arab" has remained Hollywood's shorthand for 'bad guy'. And it is not inconceivable that some of the American soldiers who have perpetrated the abuse of Arab prisoners in Abu Graib and Guantanamo as well as in other places and circumstances have been affected in their earlier lives by such images.
