Includes eight engravings: one for each area in the Seven Hills, and the panoramic view of Rome. The engravings are housed in a large, cardboard stock folder with "Italia" and "Topolski's Chronicles" printed on the front. The 20" x 14" folder is in Good condition: 4" tear to front joint; edges rubbed and worn; light soiling to front wrap. Inside this folder is the folder published with the engravings. The 19.5" x 13.5" paper folder is in Good condition: wraps are foxed and slightly soiled; wear to edges; creasing to edges and flaps; right corner of inside bottom flap dog-eared. Engravings are as follows: 1. Veduta del Sepolcro di Caio Cestio. Good. Water damage to entire left side edge; edges and top corners worn; two small tears to left side edge; plate is lightly soiled. Also, this engraving is smaller (15.75" x 10.75" versus 19"x13.5") than the others and printed on a different paper stock. 2. Veduta della Gran Piazza e Basilica di S. Pietro in Vaticano. VG+. 3. Il Monte Gianicolo. VG+. 4. Veduta del Monte Pincio e della Gran Piazza di Popolo. VG+. 5. Altra Veduta del Monte Capitolino a Mezzogiorno. VG+. 6. Veduta Generale del Monte Vaticano. VG+. 7. Altra Veduta del monte Palatino e Parte del Foro Romano. VG- conbdition: 1/4" smudge to left corner; 1" light brown streak to top edge; engraving is unaffected. 8. Panoramma di Roma Antica e Moderna. Fair condition: engraving was folded into four panels and the engraving completely tore along each fold; previous owner "repaired" with clear tape which has now completely yellowed; yellowing is beginning to bleed from the back through to the front; one strip of yellowed tape torn, completely separating the two folds; one fold had re-torn and white non-acidic Filmoplast used to repair tear and join folds. Tissue guards separate each engraving and are in overall VG- condition; several guards are creased and folded along corners; all are complete. A beautiful set.
