This number includes articles: Recent Developments in the Persian Gulf (H.G. Balfour Paul), Vietnam without Polemics (D.J. Duncanson), Mao Tse-Tung and the Search for a 'Chinese Road' to Socialism (Stuart R. Schram), Sinkiang in the Modern World (W.J. Drew and Geoffrey Wheeler), Kungur and Mustagh Ata--A Case of Mistaken Identity (Gerald Morgan), and, Mongolia's Great Leap Forward (Violet Conolly). The Royal Central Asian Society was founded in 1909, its Journal in 1913. Its name was changed to the Royal Society for Asian Affairs in the 1970s. Both the RCAS membership and the readership of its Journal were notable for 'great game' players and enthusiasts including high ranking members of British society and government..
