About This Item

Toronto: The Hunter Rose Co., Limited, 1929. HB. Blue cloth, black lettering on front cover and spine, 12mo, 218 pp. Account of the World War I experiences of the Canadian Army. Kerr (1896-1950) was from Seaforth, Ontario. He enlisted in 1916 and was a signaller with the 11th Battery of the Canadian Field Artillery, serving at Vimy Ridge, Passchendale, and during the final offensives of 1918. After the war, Kerr was educated at Oxford and Toronto, and at the time of this book being published, was Professor of History at the University of Buffalo. This book privately printed by the author in an edition of five hundred copies. Inscribed on the front paste-down "To the Chancellor With Best Wishes. The Author" and dated October 25, 1929. Old price, in pencil, front paste-down only mark in book, binding tight. Covers clean with very light edge wear and slight fading to spine. Book condition VG.
