Solidly near fine condition; just a small crease at spine top and lightly touched corners. Handsome, clean and bright copy. Well preserved example of what may be Lyman Abbott's rarest work. The Spirit of Democracy is the noted conservative/religious lecturer/writer's simple and insightful expression of his understanding of what we, as a successful democracy, are fundamentally all about - written at a time when that was just about becoming clear to him and most others.
