London / New York: Dickinson's / E.P. Dutton & Co, 1902. First Edition. Decorative Cloth. Good. In 2 vols. - complete. "The Author's edition of this work consists of five hundred and fifty copies of which this is number 74" . Folio 14" tall, letter press; note: many of the plates listed in the contents are included in the intertexual page numbers, having been printed within the text. 1: xiv + 140 deckled pages of bound text with intertextual illlustration, plus 46 engraved plates with tissue guards; 2: x + 155 deckled pages with intertextual illustration plus 55 engraved plates with tissues guards; in decorative red cloth portfolio with gilt titles. The two volumes are in good condition over all, primarily because of the quality of the interiors. BUT both covers are worn, fore-corners through to the boards as well as being bumped, spine cloth frayed at top and bottom edges; and the most significant defect is the broken binding of volume two, with back strip cloth loose at the front hinge and frayed; hinges of vol. 1 are cracked but secure, binding cracked but still relatively solid. Plates and text of both volumes are very good to fine condition, paper light to oderately yellowed. Worth the expense of resotoring or rebinding and priced accordingly. These are oversize and heavy and would require additional postage--especially overseas.
