Map pictures the various products and industries of South Africa, including textiles, chemicals, wines, wool, cattle, gold, diamonds, timber, tobacco, tungsten, copper, and much more. Positioned above South Africa on the Atlantic side of the country is the Mandate of the Union of South Africa, while positioned above South Africa on the Indian Ocean side of the map is Mozambique. Between these two is the Bechuanaland Protectorate. An inset map positions South Africa on the continent of Africa. The publication date of the map (which is undated) is ambiguous, with dates of 1943 (David Rumsey), 1946 and 1948 (OCLC records 47943901 & 316611786) being found online.

On the map, the use of the future tense when referencing the end of the war ("in four years of war it has reached...will form when hostilities have ceased.") seemingly conflicts with text reading: "South Africa is to-day an arsenal and repair base of the Armies of the United Nations." The reference to "four years of war" suggests the date 1943 (four years after 1939) while the United Nations reference might suggest a later date when the United Nations was officially ratified, hence a "1943-1948" attribution. The United Nations Declaration dates from 1942 while text on the map refers to "four years of war" and South Africa as "an arsenal of the United Nations," suggesting a date of 1943.
