Map of North and South Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Laos by Chicago Times artist Ray Shlemon, noted for his airbrush illustration. The text below the map notes " this is the terrain of South Viet Nam and neighboring countries of southeast Asia, as it might appear to an astronaut 200 mies avoe the earth. In this area the United States has committed about 215,000 fighting men and thousands of civilians in a war increasing in intensity." Inset maps show the areas around the Da Nang and Nha Trang air bases. .
