Covers worn and chipped, short spine tear at front joint, hinges cracked, front free endpaper removed, pages a little age-toned, many of the illustrations partially colored with crayon or marked with pencil, some crayoning to a few text pages, no significant chips or tears, dampstains throughout. All readable, many of the engravings untouched, but a reading copy only.. Hard Cover. Poor. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Number 13 in the series Children's Popular Tales. Thirteen titles from this series are listed on the rear cover. Also listed are twelve titles from Nurse Rockbaby's Story Books. Price of booklet is given as one penny plain and two pennies colored. Code on rear cover indicates 1858 date. A happy ending, not accorded all stories in this series, distinguishes this title. The two brothers, separated as babes, are reunited with their royal parents on the last page. Booklet in excellent clean condition. .

Covers chipped and soiled, spine covering coming away from contents near the top, hinges cracked, pages brittle with some minor edge chipping, two short closed tears to inner margin of the frontis plate (not affecting printed area), name on front free endpaper.
