Decorative cloth binding, illustrated with one of the cities In The Valley of the Seven Cities--possibly Nepal. Endpapers have sepia illustration of one of the cities. This book relates the experience of Doctor Sturges and his children and in-laws, three of whom we also medical missionary doctors for the Seventh-day Adventist Church who all workd in Nepal, the Congo, Uganda, Ethiopa, and Guam. Photographic illustrations of various locales are included--a hospital and mission unit taken from the location where the Himalayan expeditions unload and start trek to Mount Everest; a clinic at Panauti built by Gokul Das, one of the wealthier merchants; a Nepalese farmer carrying an obstinate buffalo calf on the road to Panauti in spite of elephantiasis of his right leg; etc. A really fascinating book.
