THE WEARY BLUES INSCRIBED & SIGNED BY LANGSTON HUGHES TO COUNTEE CULLEN'S LOVER, BROADWAY ACTOR & DANCER EDWARD PERRY - Octavo, decorated orange paper covered boards backed with a dark blue cloth spine. The covers are rubbed and bumped with wear to the edges and corners. Large sections of the decorative paper are torn away from the otherwise plain buff board of the rear cover. The titling has faded from the spine. The head and tail of the spine are chipped and worn. 109 pages. The pages are slightly soiled. There is offsetting to the rear endpaper and the corners of several pages are bumped and faintly creased. Good only. <p>Second printing. With an introduction by Carl Van Vechten.<p>Inscribed, signed and dated by Langston Hughes on the front endpaper to Edward Perry, the broadway actor and dancer who was one of Countee Cullen's gay lovers.
