"'We rarely tell the people who stick with us at times just how they affected us. We should, I am and I hope we all do so at one point in our lives, let those who meant something to us know just that even if we may never cross paths again.' this is part of the acknowledgment's page, not a poem in the book. The poems, however are remarkable.
This book is incredible for a first time poetry book. I love the layout, the variety, the creativity in the work. It seems to me that there are 3 major sections of the book. I had listened to a radio interview with TL Chester recently and the DJ did ask her that and she said that is exactly how she planned it, it gives off a certain mystique about it that makes you want to read it again. I think it takes a creative thinker to appreciate this book.
After having googled the author I found that she has worked on other writings but this is the first poetry. She had mentioned a fiction book that I look forward to getting. This book is a real, gut wrenching, intellectual approach through proses and poems. I am glad to see it and hope that more come to follow. The writer stated that she wrote some of these poems on different perspectives and all I could think was how creative and difficult it must be to write fictional and non-fictional poetry. It makes you wonder what comes from her and what she envisioned. Simply excellent.
