The Private Lives of Britain's Royal Women

by Unity Hall

Reviewed on Dec 17 2007

"A fairly gossipy book of marginal interest to most people. In that it has a chapter almost devoted to the reasons why Princess Di. would never consider getting divorced it is of some minor interest to read this- after the event."

The Root Of Wild Madder

by Brian Murphy

Reviewed on Aug 9 2007

"This is one of the most readable books on oriental rugs making in Iran and Afghanistan. It is more about the weavers and the merchants than about styles of rugs.Do not buy it if you want to feast your eyes on beautiful rug designs but if you are interested in a rug journey into the past and the future this will delight you.Although I have just finished this book I have begun reading it again-it is that sort of book."

"For anyone interested in oriental rugs or Afghanistan and Iran this will inform and delight them.It entertains and informs well about the people, the country and customs, not forgetting the rugs and the making of them.A great delight-I have bought another two copies to give as presents."

Oriental Rugs from A to Z

by J. R. Azizollahoff

Reviewed on Jul 2 2007

"excellent and informative reading.I was a little surprised to see included a number of machine made rugs but it is reasonable to be aware of what is been done in that direction. The production of the book is very beautiful and the colour photos are superb.Good to see a book with more up-to-date information."

Oriental Rug Handbook

by Claude Lanciano; Jon Erin

Reviewed on May 26 2007

"Initially I thought this might be alittle dated but being an historical book of course this was of no importance.I have quite a library of oriental rug books many more expensive and glossy in photography but I can heartily recommend this as a beginners book or one to have if you have an interest in oriental rugs.An informative book which explains rug constuction exceedingly well."
