Volum,e 3 frontis, 307 pages, and Volume 4 - Napoleon frontis, 326 pages with index to all four volumes. Bookplate on all four volumes front pastedown, belonging to William Henry Sloane. Constant became the valet to Napoleon and spent 14 consecutive years with him. He came to know the true Emperor, who loved children, and included them in his daily life, a kind and patient man who was rarely unjust in his treatment of others.. Hard Cover.
