New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1919 Price of "$1.50 Net" on spine of dustjacket. Stamped on front of dustjacket under title is "Published Mar. 15". Dustjacket art by Modest Stein. Title page and copyright page have same dates of 1919. 374 pages followed by 4 pages of ads for Putnam's titles. Dustjacket adhered at spine by publisher. Dustjacket has a one inch tear at base of spine and a couple of 1/4" tears at head of spine. Front flap has a 4" tear ar crease ( creases are sharp and fragile, as they are folded over thin end page.) Back flap has a 1" by 1/4" paper loss at bottom edge of flap fold. Top edge of page block lightly foxed and soiled, otherwise book is clean, square and tight. Dustjacket is also clean and bright. The first Max Brand book, filmed in 1920, starring Tom Mix. Hardback 1sts in dustjacket of this book are highly collected and notably scarce. An Advance Copy of this book is a true rarity.. First Edition. Plain White Wrappers.
