Book description: London: Gollancz, 1970 authors first work in first edition.front end paper and paste down have surface rubbing to the paper where something has been erased (?), there is a little patch of this also to foot of title page below the date, and on rear paste down, reasonably minor. pp10 has the erased imprint of a pencil hexagram in the top corner, pp18 has the page number circled in pen, light soiling to some pages. This seems to have been a lending library copy but bears little remaining signs of this. The DW is just Good, the spine is reinforced on the reverse with brown paper (neatly), , rubbed along edges, price-clipped, with severe silverfish damage to the spine with plenty of loss necessitating the spine reinforcement, the lower flaps fold in edge is gone and reinforced with paper., surprisingly the covers and flaps are almost completely intact, although worn.
