Signed by author on title-page. Dustjacket in good condition, spine slightly faded but lettering is still bright, outer corner edges and spine ends slightly rubbed, and back cover has some light marks on it (see picture). Price clipped. 210pp. With frontispiece, 12 full-page, and numerous line drawings in text. Illustrated by John Ward, R.A. and John Sergeant The author describes her journeys on foot and on bicycle over the hills and in the Cotswold villages, and recounts the hilarious country tales she was told. She has helped, with potato sorting, watched the sheep-shearing, learnt about the quarrying of slates at Stonesfield, and sampled home-made wines. Recipes are included such as elderflower champagne and gingerbread. At the time of the book publication the author played Mrs. Lilly in the BBC radio serial 'The Archers.'. Signed by Author.
